The Department of Textile Technology was started in 1997 offering the prestigious Diploma-Textile Technology programme.
The Department of Textile Technology of K.S.R.I.T was established cater the ever increasing requirement of the Textile and Garment Industry and offer 3 year Diploma in Textile Technology.
This Department provides a practical training (both in-house, in-industry) so that the Diploma Holders confidently entering the industry with latest knowledge in textiles, apparels and allied fields this department has well qualified and experienced faculty.
The main motive of this programme is to fulfill the long-felt needs of the export-oriented garment industry, to train man power in Textile design, Garment manufacturing technology and Apparel Marketing and Merchandising. India which has always been the centre for the textile and garment trade is now growing into a centre of innovation in garment and accessory design and so Textile technology has a wide scope for choosing career.
The Campus is energetic and pleasant with stimulating environment favorable for novel atmosphere to promote independent thinking in students. The Campus also develops inter personnel relationship between students, special efforts are made to promote students teacher interaction and student’ counseling service has been set up to assist students of the institute.
The Department has well-qualified and experienced faculty, who are expert in their own disciplines and it aims at educating and training students with sound technical knowledge and creates awareness on the latest trends of existing and emerging technologies.
Textile Technology Department provides the right environment for natural learning in harmony with nature, away from the odds of the city life. The spacious and the earth hugging building punctuated with landscaped courtyards and pathways are designed to emphasis professional ethics and character of an excellent center for learning. The class rooms are well structured, well furnished and are ventilated. Each class rooms are provided with additional facilities like OHP, LCD and internet. Textile laboratories to give innovative exposure to the students and also them nurture towards research and developments in various disciplines.
The Department students involved in paper publications in national symposiums in different part of the places, they won the prizes in various participations.
